Lighting and Shading tests:
I have been playing around with Vray for Maya and did a quick lighting/shading test. The model is a royalty free 3D scan of an employee at Infinite Realities. It is a high quality model that comes with a few maps.
I created a few additional maps to use with the Vray SSS shader. There are only two lights in the scene, a strong key and a rim light. GI is turned on as well. I also used this test as an exercise in linear workflow. Both images are from the same exr render and were color corrected in Photoshop.
Uni: the character from the game my friends and I have been working on. I changed his face slightly from my original design. This image was mainly a test at lighting and CG integration into live footage (in this case a random image I found on flickr when I did a search for “curb”).
These are two of the planets I textured for use in a video game I am working on with some friends.
I printed the first three images on some t-shirts. The outcome was much better than I expected. After I get more photo emulsion, I’ll print the Buddha design.
Here is a simple redesign of the Chicago Flag. On the flag, the stripes are supposed to represent the rivers. I thought it would be interesting to actually have a river, and make the top stripe something else very recognizably Chicago.
Graphic Design & Digital Paintings
I wasn’t quite sure where to post this, as it definitely isn’t digital art. I modified a blank munny with some super sculpey and paint! He is now Mega Munny.
This is a self portrait done to mimic a Roman period “Mummy portrait” of an Egyptian Boy. I was told in my art history class that I resembled the portrait, (Maybe the eyes a little, my relatives are Sicilian) so I decided to actually make one of myself.
These are some still shots from my animations
I created all elements in this shot. The tiger was rigged by my friend Andrej.
I modeled the environment and composited it in After Effects. I used a rig downloaded from Creative Crash.
